Figuring Out This Carnival Thing. So I have come to find a thing called blog “carnivals” and “festivals”. Folks submit their best blog posts on a range of different topics and the host puts them together and makes sense of them all. They are hosted by a new blogger typically every week. Sounds like a lot of work but very cool!
So I found the Festival of Frugality and it seemed like a good fit for what I blog about. It was hosted by Melanie at Bean Sprouts and she did a nice job categorizing all the posts. She even included my article 10 Frugal Summer Fun Ideas - thanks Bean Sprouts, much appreciated! Head over to their site to read all the articles. Here are a few articles I thought were really interesting:
Melissa from A Penny Closer had this great article about getting the best deal on groceries. The post is called You Better Shop Around: Getting The Best Deals On Groceries and I bookmarked it for future reference. As a coupon guy, I really found it a good read!
Lynnae from a blog called BeingFrugal.net did a post titled One Must be Organized to be Frugal and she really hits the nail on the head with her points. Especially when she talks about all the costs and fees that you can rack up when your life is a dis-organized mess. Good Stuff.
Finally, another post that caught my attention was from My Wealth Builder and titled Renting Versus Owning. Not a house, but a boat, yeah caught me off guard as well. My wife and I had this conversation as we live in a place where there are a lot of boating possibilities. Frequency of use (or lack thereof) is what I think is holding us back from getting a boat at this point.
