Good Reading From The Blogosphere
Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween yesterday. If your pumpkins are starting to rot and look like this sorry guy sitting on our front porch it may be time to put it out of its misery! Anyways, I have been bookmarking some great articles from other blogs that I wanted to pass along. So, with no further-ado here we go:
- Cheap as Chips has an article titled 2nd Birthday where he documents some ways to save money on birthday parties. We just celebrated our son’s 6th birthday and I have some of the same feelings on birthday parties as the author.
- Clever Dude’s post titled Calculate Financial AND Opportunity Costs of Your Decision really made me ponder some of the opportunity costs involved in everyday life that I never considered before.
- Chief Family Officer (CFO) has a very informative post about getting the most out of having to make a customer service call in her post, Six tips for making dreaded calls to customer service a little easier. Like her, I hate having to make these calls but with her tips and a solid plan it will be much easier in the future.
- Grad Money Matters wrote a post titled Is Working Smart Really An Alternative To Working Hard? that I really enjoyed. In it, she poises the question that just working smart will not always cut the mustard. I have often pondered the old adage, ‘Work Smart, Not Hard’ and I actually wrote a post on this subject awhile back.
- Jim at Blueprint for Financial Prosperity did a very informative post titled What It Means To Be Bonded, Licensed & Insured that is a great resource if you ever hire a company or workers to do work at your house or business.
- And last but not least, I found a great new blog called Got No Dough, and it is all about “Saving Money in Slim Times” and the post When Being Frugal Becomes Illegal really captured my attention. For me, it is all about good Carma and not cutting corners in order to save a few bucks. Excellent post, go check out this great blog along with all the others documented here.

Many thanks for the mentioned. Hoped that your son’s 6th birthday was just as much fun.
