I actually started a conversation with a friend I've had a year about whether or not I was expected to provide Birthday and Christmas presents with her and her family. I feel like a cheap bastard (which I'm not) but I just wanted to avoid yet another obligation. I -love- to buy presents for people but when I want to and when I find appropriate presents for them and not because it's December and I'm supposed to. Anyway, it was a difficult conversation to start but I'm pleased to say she feels the same way I do about it. Yeah! Thanks for the link.
