Good Reading From The Blogosphere
January 10, 2008 · Filed Under Reviews ·
Much of the inspiration for this new blog comes from reading other quality blogs. It is amazing to me how many quality blogs are out there waiting to be discovered. I tend to read blogs about frugal living, online shopping, and consumerism. Here is some of the better stuff I have read the past couple weeks:
- David at My Two Dollars wrote a post titled It’s The Dreaded “After Christmas” Credit Card Bill Time where he talks about how it is time to pay up after the Christmas season. Boy, I now the feeling! Even though we spent less this year the bills are still big and I think it is important to take responsibility for it, learn from it, and pay it as quick as possible. Avoid those high interest fees if at all possible. I know, easier said than done.
- My Wealth Builder has a post about Not Buying Things I Don’t Need. I find myself thinking I need to buy stuff all the time because it is on sale. But the truth of the matter is it goes on sale very couple weeks. Only buy what you need!
- A found a real interesting post at Unclaimed Money titled Not Keeping Up With the Jones Jr’s. This is a great story and should make any parent proud. Kids today get so caught up in the “gimme, gimme” or “I want, I want”, and when parents don’t give in, they build a child with some character!
- Mrs. Micah’s post titled Relatively Frugal emphasises the point that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a good time. All it takes is a little creativity!

Thanks for the mention Kyle!
I think knowing people really well helps finding frugal things to do together.
MM, agree, especially when you share the same values with those people.
Kyle,
Thanks for mention. I’ve always found “buying what I need” to be a good strategy
I’m glad you enjoyed the article, Not Keeping Up With the Jones Jr’s, and yes I am one proud mama.
