Tips From Women Around The Blogosphere
I have recently stumbled across some great blogs written by women with tips to make life a little easier and a little less expensive. As a father of 3 children and living on a budget, I read these blogs and other to get some great tips on making our paycheck go a little bit further. It amazes me how much you can learn from reading about the experience of others. I wanted to take a moment to pass some of these blogs along to you. So with no further ado, here are some blogs I have been enjoying the past couple weeks. Go check out these blogs, they are all very well done.
- Saving on Diapers: Cloth v. Disposable – Crystal at Money Saving Mom discusses the benefits of both cloth and disposable diapers. She gave up on cloth diapers recently on her second child because she mastered the art of the “explosive diaper” which made cloth diapers a pretty stinky situation. Sorry couldn’t resist.
My wife and I similarly gave up on cloth diapers with our second child. Was just too much work. I now get a good deal on disposable at Diapers.com. Crystal scores a great deal on disposables at CVS. - Frugal Shopping With Julie – Julie, ”The Queen of Frugal”, is a blogger after my own ‘coupon loving’ heart. She blogs about great deals and coupons that she finds around the web. She writes in a very fun style and is very creative, go check out her blog!
- Money Saving Methods.com – Carrie, a mother of 3, blogs about some great ways to save money. For example, my family loves Red Robin, it is our kids favorite restaurant and Carrie gave me the tip of signing up for getting a free burger on our kid’s birthdays. We end up there on almost every birthday in our family so this is a great find. Thanks Carrie!
- For Families First – This is a great blog for parenting tips, as well as tips on how to save some money when running the household. Nice recipes as well. I found the blog a couple weeks ago when I was looking for some grocery store coupons. This is an excellent resource for parents. Go take a peek.
- BeCentsAble – This blog is a guide to spending sensibly and saving more money with coupons. What I like about this blog is how you can share your shopping finds and check out the great deals others have found at Walgreens, Target, and other stores. It amazes me how many great deals are out there for the taking. You just have to know where to find them and this blog helps you do that.
- The Happy Housewife - Musings about homemaking, homeschooling, saving money and more. The Happy Housewife brings you great household tips and frugal living tips. A very honest blog and well written. My wife has added this to her blog reader and already used several of her tips, including the Banana smoothie, which is awesome by the way!

Thanks so much for the mention! I had not found your website yet ( as I am new to the world of blogs ), and it is hilarious! I can’t wait to read more. I will definitely be checking in.
Just an update, too, on the Red Robin free meals. When you sign up, they send you a $3 Off coupon to your inbox to use within the next 2 weeks. So, if you know you are going to be going some week ( and it is not birthday time yet ), sign up at that time for the birthday clubs so you can use the $3 off coupon!
Oh yes, and I should mention…the posts I found so funny…I LOVED the brain fart post and the spoon..yikes! I still need to read further….but baby is waking from nap. I’ll be back!
Carrie, thanks for stopping by and the nice compliment! Also, thanks for the Red Robin tip, love that place, nice and loud for kids that are ‘nice and loud’, and I can’t get enough of their Bleu Ribbon burger!!
Thanks for the mention on your blog. I have been looking at it tonight and I love it! I love the post about 5 things you wish you hadn’t purchased new. I just got a pair of lands end jeans at the thrift store for $2.50, while I was wearing a pair that I paid 49.00 for! You can’t tell the difference!
I passed your blog onto my family… I am sure we will enjoy reading it.
Thanks!
Thanks for stopping by our site. I am so glad to know that you enjoy the information we share. This is the first time visiting your blog and I compliment you on the entry about getting out of credit card debt. Great suggestions, tips and helpful information. I’ve been working on that goal and have applied my money saved on groceries to help out
@ THH, sweet deal on your jeans! And the cool thing about jeans is the more worn in the “hipper” and that is all that the thrift store has!!
@ FFF, thanks for stopping by and stay strong and focused on getting out of credit card debt. Making that last CC payment was one of the greatest feelings of my life. Right after the 3 days my children were born!
Kyle,
Thank you so much for the kind mention! I discovered your site last week and added it to my favorites….although I just now noticed you have RSS, which I’m now addicted to and use daily, so I’ll be subscribing
You have some really great content here and I’d be happy to add you to my new blogroll (still in progress). Thanks again!
