TGIF - Some Good Weekend Reading

May 2nd, 2008 by Kyle

Garage SaleI have not shared some my favorite weekly reading in awhile, so I thought I would share the love on this beautiful Friday morning. Looking forward to a great weekend where the weather is suppose to be in the 80’s here in northern California. Here are some posts that I stumbled upon that I wanted to share.

  • 10 Tips to a Wildly Successful Garage Sale @ Being Frugal.net - Lynnae shares some great tips on having a very profitable garage sale. It definitely is the season as many people are doing some spring cleaning and getting rid of stuff.
  • Landscaping Savings @ The Happy Housewife - Getting my garden going again. Some great tips here on how to save money on your yard this year. I especially like the plant perennials advice, while annuals are instant color, they are gone way to fast, and so is your money!
  • Frugal Summer Fun With The Kids @ The New Frugal Mom - Looking for some ideas on how to keep the kids busy this summer and have some fun without spending a lot of money? Check out some great tips from Marianne. What I love about Marianne’s posts is that her advice is all from experience. This post is not exception.
  • It is Officially Stimulus Check Bonus Time! @ Money Saving Methods - Did you know that many retailers are offering an incentive if you spend your rebate check at their stores? I had no idea some stores were doing this. If you plan on shopping at Sears, Radio Shack, Kroger’s, and Albertsons, this post can help you save even more. Go check out the details at Carrie’s blog.
  • Working Backwards: What’s a 401(k)? @ Uncommon Cents- If you are new to the idea of saving for retirement and 401(k) plans, then Ryan’s post at Uncommon Cents is a must read. He breaks it down in a very easy to follow and understand post. Go check it out, especially if the company you work for has a 401(k) plan and you are not taking advantage of it yet.
