Frugality In Practice: Summer Fun @ The Movies
Our local Cinemark movie theatre has a really cool (literally) program called the Summer Movie Clubhouse where you can take the kids weekly to see a movie for only $1 per ticket or you can pre-buy all 10 summer movies for only $5. My wife and I are going to take our kids to a few of the shows, especially when the temperature gets over 100 degrees!
Most of the movies are recent family favorites like Charlotte’s Web (my daughter’s favorite) and a few like Doogal and Flushed Away that I am not familiar with yet. If you don’t have a Cinemark in your town check with your local theaters as they may have a similar program!

Our theater does this, as a fund raiser through for the school. The movies are a little older, not the latest releases, and they are shown in the mornings. You have to pre buy your tickets, but its only $1/seat.
Taking the family out to see a movie has turned into a huge investment nowadays. I usually cringe at the thought. We don’t have a Cinemark but I will check out our local theaters to see if they have a similar program. Inexpensive summer fun will top my list!
Hey! I posted about you today. Send me over your post for tomorrow and I’ll get it up. Are you going to make an entry tomorrow linking to your guest post? Thanks! -Amanda
I’ll have to see if any of our theaters do this. Great idea.
BTW, Doogal is awful, awful, awful. Flushed Away is merely passable.
Our theatre does this during the summer. It’s really nice that they do this.
