May I suggest finding a hobby yourself, that you can then share iwth your kids? My husband started making sourdough bread, which is a) a cheap hobby, and b) we all benefit from, and c) he enjoys. Music-oriented? Craft-oriented? Nature-oriented? What do YOU like to do? The biking sounds great. Dont' forget to take apart dead appliances with your kids. My son loves doing this.
