I found the life story of Eddie Bauer interesting. He was born in 1899 on Puget Sound in the state of Washington. It was not until Eddie Bauer almost froze to death on a fishing trip when he was in his 20's that he came up with the idea of using down feathers in his jackets that he was selling at his Seattle sporting good store. He had heard of his uncles using goose down jackets to keep warm in Russia during the Russo-Japanese war.

The jackets were a major hit and thus started his reputation of high quality outerwear and sporting goods. This page carries on with his tradition of high quality products. In conclusion, he died in 1986 just 2 weeks after the passing of his wife, Christine. The were married for an amazing 56 years. My wife and I have 50 years to try and catch up.
