Gap Inc. is a leading international specialty retailer offering clothing, accessories and personal care products for men, women, children and babies. They were founded in San Francisco in 1969 by Donald and Doris Fisher. They started with only one store and a few employees. Gap now operates over 3,000 stores and has had an online website for a number of years.

Having grown up near San Francisco I was always given clothes from them. I especially remember my sister buying clothes for me from 'The Gap', as we called it. I never shopped for myself and so I always relied on my family to buy my clothes which they did, thankfully. I was always impressed with the quality of their clothes, I was very rough on my clothes from being outside playing all the time but they never looked worse for wear. I still buy my jeans from them and they hold up really well for me. I also have a couple turtlenecks that keep me warm in the winter and a few pairs of their cargo shorts for the summer time. I really like their styles, and more important for me, they do not wear out like a lot of the cheaper brands.
