Amazon Prime

On Friday, September 25, 2015 starting at 12:01 AM ET, and ending at 11:59 PM PT, you can save a cool $32 bucks on a 1-year Amazon Prime membership. For 1-day only, you can get Prime for $67, instead of the regular $99.

Makes for a great time to buy a membership as we head into the holiday shopping season. The price is actually lower then what Amazon sold a Prime membership for prior to the rate increase to $99/year. Sign Up Here.

Why the odd number of $67? It’s in reference to the 67th Emmy Awards which saw Amazon win 5 awards this past Sunday. A bit gimmicky for sure, but a great way to save $32 if you were considering Prime anyways.

UPDATE: I have gotten a lot of questions about who is eligible for this price, and unfortunately, this offer is for “New Prime Members” only.

What Exactly Do You Get With Amazon Prime?

For those that are still a little fuzzy about what comes with a Prime membership, here is exactly what you get:

  • Free 2-Day Shipping: Get 2-day delivery on millions of “Prime” eligible items. If you don’t get the product delivered on time, you can get a bunch of cool things.
  • Prime Music Streaming Service: Unlimited, ad-free access, to Prime Playlists and more than a million songs and albums at no additional cost via Prime Music.
  • Unlimited Photo Storage: Unlimited cloud storage with a service called Amazon Prime Photos.
  • Same Day Delivery in Certain Areas: 2-day shipping not fast enough? Use Prime Now to get delivery as fast as 1-hour in select markets.
  • Free Streaming Video: Instantly stream Prime Instant Video titles from your computer’s web browser, Fire phone, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Apple devices, Android phones, Internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray players, and gaming consoles.
  • Kindle Lending Library: From Amazon.com, “With Amazon Prime, Kindle owners can choose from more than 800,000 books to borrow for free with no due dates, including current and former best sellers and all 7 Harry Potter books.”

Ask the Reader: Does the $67 price point for a 1-year Prime membership seem like a great deal to you? The truth of the matter is you may never see it this cheap again.

We’ve gone back and forth on this for a while, and last year when they had a deal for $79 or something, we almost jumped. This is too good to pass up and we’ve been on the fence too long. We’ll definitely be in.

I’ll try buying my dad Prime as a gift so he can start it when the current membership ends. That worked last time and this is an even better deal.

Dang – looks like they changed the rules. You can’t give the gift of Prime at this price.

$67 for a 1-year Prime membership is definitely a good deal. After all those free Amazon trials couple of years ago, price hasn’t been this good.

It’s a shame though that the promotional price was just for a day and many readers missed out!

Yeah I’m just seeing this today 10/14/18 and I’m subscribed to this blog. Not sure why I didn’t get it when I could have signed up.

Is there any information about the Prime membership being offered at a discount this year? How about the competition with Jet.com? I don’t know enough about it yet to decide which is the better bargain, even without the discount. Has there been a lot of feedback from Jet.com from people who have tried it?
